About Us
There probably has been a Men’s Club at the McCall Municipal Golf Course as long as there has been a golf course. The club has been operated by various entities since its inception and has a long history of sponsoring and conducting tournaments and raising funds to support various golf activities and facility improvements.
In the 1990’s, most of the funds needed for construction of the present clubhouse were raised by the sale of lifetime golf course passes donated by the McCall City Council to the Men’s Club. In 2000, the United States Golf Association (USGA) and Idaho Golf Association (IGA) required Men’s or Women’s Club and state association memberships as a prerequisite to obtaining and maintaining a USGA certified handicap. At that time, the Men’s Club adopted bylaws and operated as an unregistered unincorporated non-profit association until 2015.
The McCall Men’s Golf Association, Inc. (MMGA) was incorporated in December 2014, and has operated all Men’s Club activities since that time. The bylaws adopted in 2000 were modified and accepted by the members starting with the 2015 season. In addition to providing USGA approved handicaps for those who also join the IGA, the corporation has raised funds through auctions, raffles, membership dues, tee sign advertising. The primary donation purpose of funds raised is to promote the game of golf in the McCall area.
The corporation is registered with the Idaho Secretary of State as an active non-profit corporation, has obtained and maintains 501 (c) (3) approval from the Internal Revenue Service, is represented by elected members to the McCall Golf Course Advisory Committee, elects an official representative to the USGA for handicap authorization, and is a member of the McCall Chamber of Commerce.
Membership dues are $40 per year; all memberships are for the calendar year, expiring December 31. MMGA and state association membership is only mandatory for those wanting a USGA approved handicap. IGA and MMGA dues can be paid annually at the IGA website, www.idahoga.org. Members of other state associations, or those wanting membership without a USGA handicap, can pay the annual dues at the McCall Golf Course Pro Shop.
